Matthew T. Gass is a 2000 graduate of Marshall High School in Marshall, Missouri. He received his bachelor of arts degree in Political Science in 2004 from the University of Missouri–Columbia. While attending undergrad, he participated in Air Force ROTC, earning an Officer Commission as a 2d Lt in the United States Air Force. Matt was stationed at Whiteman AFB, Missouri from 2004-2009 where he worked as an Executive Officer and eventually retired from the Air Force as a Captain. In 2006, he deployed with the 393d Bomb Squadron, one of only two B-2 Stealth Bomber units to Andersen AFB, Guam as part of the Bomber Forward Global Strike mission. Matt received his Juris Doctorate law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2012, and is licensed in Missouri. Matt left private practice to work for the Missouri State Public Defender for over 2 years. During his time at the PD’s office, Matt was selected for and attended the Trial Lawyers College in Dubois, WY. Matt is married to Bethanie and they welcomed their twin sons, Ryan and Joshua, in 2013.
